Dr. Clare Baltazar is the author of Philippine Insects, the first authoritative text on insect fauna native to the Philippine archipelago. Her numerous works on insects, specially her pioneering research on the Philippine Hymenoptera are significant accomplishments in laying down the framework of insect control in the future.
Dr. Baltazar's other contributions to science are her discoveries of the 8 genus and one subgenus of Hymenoptera and her discoveries of 108 new species of the Philippine parasitic wasps. Because of these contributions, she received in 1980, the The Rizal Patria Award for Entomology.
Dr. Baltazar is a well recognized figure in the world of Entomology.
